The Details:
Packets are available at 9:00 am or a little earlier if we are ready.
Player's meeting is at 9:30 with tee off at 10:00 am sharp.
We will play both rounds of the ace race back to back with a short break in between. Lunch will be on your own in our great town, I will be more than happy to recommend good eats. 1-1.5 hrs after the last round of the ace race is when the X-Out Doubles Mania player's meeting is. There are tons of course changes and rules that apply to this round, you don't need to miss this meeting.
Unfortunately there are no extra packs so if you are not confirmed to play we won't have any packs available. I ordered extra and they are all spoken for. Amazing how procrastination is a trait of so many disc golfers.
See you Saturday, if you have any questions please feel free to call me.

| It looks a lot like a domey wasp. The edge isn't as sharp as the wasp. |

Players have been asking for something more overstable, and in our 8th year we finally decided to give in. Here you go, sports fans!
The 2010 Ace Race prototype is a fast, overstable midrange. It has good speed for a mid, longer glide than you'll expect, and a medium strong finish. When you turn it over it will always come back unless you really torque it. Will hold a line in a moderate to strong headwind. We are looking forward to hearing the chains you ring with it!

Not quite right Michael. Here is what you get for $25 not $30, all the discraft stuff, a brand new champion x-out, and a t-shirt. Not to shabby huh?
I accept that challenge Michael, you flick and I'll flick every hole too! I do get to putt regular though right? Bill's hamburger is a great bet. |

Ok guys we have folks signing up and ready to play. One quick reminder, you get a free t-shirt for each package you purchase. If you get the size to me along with payment by August 7th you get the size you want. So not only a free t-shirt but one that fits.

Like Wayne said the t-shirts are a go for the at least the first 30 to sign up and if all goes as planned you will be able to pick your size. Design is being worked on now, will try to get an image up later.
email to this address if you plan to come so we can start a list.
ktel311@hotmail.com and be sure to put "Ace Race" in the subject line.
Thanks, Keith |

Any way this can be moved to Sunday ?
There is a tournament on the same day. I'll buy a ace race packet however.
This sounds like too much fun to miss and really think it should be considered to be moved to Sunday. |

Ok folks the time is here. Ace Race packets can be ordered so we need a count. Before you start emailing or calling let me tell you a little about this years race, it will be a little different and the prize pack has been upgraded.
The basics:
What: Discraft's Annual Ace Race
Where: Panther Prowl Disc Golf Course, Amory, MS
When: August 21st with the first round tee off at 10:00 and the second immediately after the first. The optional third round will start 1-1.5 hours after the ace race is over.
Format: simple, one throw per hole. The one with the most aces wins. All holes shortened to make them more ace friendly.
Cost: $25 per entrant
Deadline: for entry payment is August 7, 3 weeks and 4 days from today.
We would like to hear from you asap if you plan to attend.
Prize Pack: includes 2 prototype discraft discs, hat, sticker, mini, stainless ace race keychain(new this year!).
The extras:
Round 3 is not affiliated with discraft or the Ace Race concept. Is is a monster of mine own creation. With help from Innova this round is however included in the ace race entry fee.
Round 3: X-out Doubles Mania
Cost: Free to all Ace Race participants. Unlike the Ace Race, you can't order this package though. You have to be here to get any goodies from it.
Format: Random draw doubles on a shortened hole course with 6 additional baskets added to the course. It will be a par 2 course with some interesting basket placements and obs.
The Mania part: all participants will draw a random brand new champion x-out driver from innova out of a bag. It is yours to keep. On the disc will be a number. Matching numbers drawn will be partners. You must play the entire round with the disc drawn only. No putters nor mids no nothing but your x-out. You may however trade back and forth with your partner if you choose. No other trading, only with your partner until after the round. Grand prize for round will be plastic, not sure what just yet. There will also be some CTP's and some other prizes to be won. Just going to be a really fun round.
The maybes: we are working on a discount for lunch with your keychain at a local restaurant. There is a strong possibility that the first 30 to sign up will receive a free t-shirt as well. There is a chance we will play the second round of the ace race allowing each player to throw both discs on each hole to up the ace count. That is still to be decided.
You pay $25 and get all the discraft stuff, a champion driver from Innova, possibly discounted lunch, and possibly a t-shirt. Not to mention chances to win other great prizes. What else could you need? See you there! |

You have no worries in Amory at night as long as the authorities are notified early.
Dillon if you come you may not bring your tire iron. It is a two stroke penalty if you do!!! |

It's Amory's turn to host this great event and we look forward to the challenge presented before us in keeping up with Tupelo. We are currently kicking around the idea of a two round (normal ace race) and then an additional night time race with dinner served in between. We will keep you posted.
Originally we planned to run this event on the 28th of August and put it on Discraft's website but made no formal local announcement. It now conflicts with local tourney so with Discraft's permission we have now moved it to August 21st.
So go ahead and get that date on your calendar and plan to get in on the fun.
As always, if you have any questions call me.
